1. The installation program said it completed successfully, but I
cannot find the files where they should be:
There are a few problems that could have caused the files to not get
copied correctly. 1) Make sure you specified the correct absolute pathname
for the directory in question. You can use your telnet software's
scrollbar to scroll up to answer you provided. 2) Make sure you have the
necessary permissions to write files to the specified directory.
2. The installation program said it completed successfully, but when I
go to the url I specified, I get a 'file not found' error.
Make sure you specified the correct url, which corresponds to the
directory where the files were installed. Make sure the files were
actually installed without error.
3. I completed the installation, and when I load up the CGI pages
(report or admin panel), all of the images appear broken.
Make sure you specified the correct url and directory for the image
files. This directory cannot be a cgi-bin directory. It must be a normal
web-readable directory.
4. I added the server-side include tag to my webpage, but when I load
the page nothing happens (I don't don't see any adbar images).
Check the source for the webpage from within your browser, and you
should see the AMS SSI tags. This indicates that the webserver did not
parse through your webpage to execute the SSI tag. You must contact your
server administrator to request that your webpages will execute
server-side includes tags. It might be possible already by simply changing
the filename extension on your pages to .shtml - but it's best to check
with your administrator.
5. I added the server-side include tag to my webpage, but I see an
error in my browser when I load the page.
This means a server error has occured, and it could have been caused by
several reasons. We recommend checking your webserver error log in this
event to see what the webserver is complaining about. Typical things to
look for are: making sure the SSI tag is pointing to the right location
and was formatted correctly, making sure the AMS software has the proper
execute permissions, making sure the AMS database directory has ample
permission for the webserver to write to the database files.
6. I installed AMS correctly, but when I load a page I see a broken image instead of the adbar that should be there.
Login to your AMS administrator panel, and make sure the absolute url for the adbar image you specified is correct. Chances are the url is not valid.
