FAQ

All messages in HyperThread are in one of two states, either public (viewable by anybody looking at the discussion board) or private (viewable only by the administrator using the administration panel). The administrator can change whether a message is public or private in the administration panel.

Moderated Mode takes advantage of this in another way. It makes it so any new message posted is automatically set to "private". This gives the administrator the ability to act as a discussion moderator and decide which messages are made public.

Moderated Mode is turned off by default, so when HyperThread is installed all message postings are automatically made public. To turn moderated mode on, the file "radthread-headers.pl" needs to be edited. Simply go to the text that reads:

# Remove the comment (#) from the next definition to enable moderated mode
#$MODERATED = 1;

and take out the "#" sign in front of $MODERATED = 1; so that it reads:

# Remove the comment (#) from the next definition to enable moderated mode
$MODERATED = 1;
