Installing the self-installing version of LinkTrakker can be handled by most semi-technical webmasters; however, a basic understanding of UNIX or Windows NT and the layout of your server will certainly make the process easier.
Although the installer program will guide you through most of the process, we recommend you read through this guide at least once before attempting the install, so you will know what lies ahead.
Before running the self-installer, you will need to know how to access your copy of Perl. Since the location differs from service to service, we recommend you contact your system administrator to get this information. You should also be familiar with the location of your cgi-bin directory.
