First deployed in July of 1995, LinkTrakker has gone through numerous revisions, reworks and improvements.

LinkTrakker Version History

• Under Development: "database explorer" report style; expanded database format support

• Version 3.5(09/01/98): Added cookie-based tracking option for e-commerce systems; new JavaScript deployment method; modifications for modularization of report formats.

• Version 3.4(07/03/98): Added configurability for mSQL or DBM databases (UNIX versions only)

• Version 3.3(06/30/98): Added registration/trialware functionality

• Version 3.2(09/04/97): Added "top20" summary script, although it is not used by default. NT version now available.

• Version 3.1(08/28/97): Report reworked to allow for display based on a specified date.

• Version 3.01(05/13/97): Spider upgraded to handle virtual hostnames

• Version 3.0(10/30/96): complete rework of database storage and manipulation routines; integrated support for multiple domain names

• Version 2.5(9/1/96): complete rework of collection, verification and reporting modules; addition of graphical traffic meters; addition of database maintainence control panels.

• Version 2.4(7/12/96): minor modifications to reporting system for fuzzy URL matching, addition of non-CGI LinkTrakker routines for integration with other CGI programs by outside programmers.

• Version 2.3(6/15/96): experimental unreleased version - conversion to Server Side Includes installation of tracking points.

• Version 2.2(7/12/96): minor modifications to reporting system for fuzzy URL matching.

• Version 2.1(2/5/96): complete rework of collection and verification modules, improvement of reporting system to multi-screen results.

• Version 2.0(1/22/96): experimental unreleased version - new Radiation Retriever spider routines.

• Version 1.6(1/08/96): conversion to UNIX-native database format for improved reliability on high-traffic systems.
