Incoming Link Analyzer - LinkTrakker
System Requirements
These are the technical specifications to run LinkTrakker version 3.5+ on your UNIX or Windows NT webserver. If you are unsure whether your webserver meets these requirements, please contact your system administrator.
Requirements for UNIX
- Any POSIX Compliant Unix platform compatible with BSD Unix (Tested platforms include BSDi, IRIX, SunOS, Solaris and Linux)
- Perl installation of at least Perl 4 patch level 36 or later (compiled with DBM support).
- Optional support of mSQL database format
- Optional: webserver capable of Server Side Includes (SSI) in "exec" mode. Tested webservers include NCSA, Apache, Microsoft and Netscape.
While installation of LinkTrakker does require write access to a number of webserver configuration files, it does not require root access and can be installed in a shared server environment (such as individual directories of an Internet service provider).
Requirements for NT
- Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0
- Tested webservers include Microsoft IIS, Netscape and NCSA
- A Perl 5 interpreter is required for LinkTrakker to work. We have tested the product using Active State's perl 5.003 for Win32 operating systems. Although other Perl for windows versions may work, we recommend Active State's product as it has proven to be very compatible with Perl for Unix (for which LinkTrakker was first designed). Active State's Perl interpreter is free and can be downloaded from their website - http://www.activestate.com/
