1. Can I change the appearance of the page to fit my website? Can I use my logo and images?
Absolutely. The look of Personals/Classifieds can be easily customized by you or your designers with no modifications to the actual program. Formatting information is stored in an external HTML template, and the images used as buttons can be replaced by other images.
2. I have a tight quota of disk space for my website, how much space will the software take up?
The software itself (executables and modules) takes up under 150K. The database files, however, can grow large quickly. A message board with around 100 active messages can consume as much as 350K.
3. I run a website which targets younger audiences. How can I make sure profanity doesn't get posted for these young people to read?
Personals/Classifieds (since version 2.0) includes an integrated "Twit Filter" that can filter out unacceptable words, replacing them with *censored*. The list of unacceptable words can be easily expanded by you or your designers, and the entire filter can be toggled on or off at the desire of the webmaster.
4. Can I set up Personals/Classifieds to be a "private system" that requires a username/password to enter?
Yes, most typically by making the entire directory password protected using .htaccess or other password security protocol. Other webmasters have used the system with only the post/check replies systems password protected (to provide a "free ads for registered users only" approach). Personals/Classifieds itself includes a username/password system for the "check replies" system only.
5. I would like to customize my Personals/Classifieds, add new features and then re-sell that. Is this ok?
Absolutely not! You are free to make whatever changes you like to the software, however, GMD Studios owns the copyright to the software and the associated intellectual property rights. When you download Personals/Classifieds, you are accepting a license to utilize the software on a single webserver. (Consult the Radiation License Agreement for details.)
